Come along to POP Brixton from 7-9pm this evening (22nd May) for a free music showcase event!
The Grit School is a 7-week music industry and artist development crash course run by School Ground Sounds, who are based on our Community Initiatives Floor here at 3Space International House. The project is aimed at 16-24-year-olds in South London, who are looking for guidance and support for building a career in the music industry. Over the past 7 weeks, budding young creative artists have indulged in workshops and industry led seminars, including access to free studio time and rehearsal space.
This exciting experience will come to a close this evening with a live showcase event in Pop Brixton from 7-9pm, offering a chance for the young musicians to put into practice everything they have learnt over the 7-weeks. The event is free, and everyone is welcome to come and support!
The course aims to offer a practical and realistic view of the ever-changing industry, arming young musicians with the tools, knowledge and networks they need to stay inspired in pursuing a career path in music. It has been funded by the Arts Council England and is supported by Lambeth Sounds, Raw Material and 3Space.
