VR / POETRY - 360 ̊ poetry and film workshop

With the launch of our newly refurbished Ground Floor Event space, GIVE tenant The Independent Film Trust, based on the 6th floor here at International House, hosted the first two sessions of their two-weekend free workshops, ‘VR / Poetry - 360 ̊ poetry and film’.

The event, aimed at poets and filmmakers, explored how 360 ̊ VR and film can help transport poetry audiences to new worlds. Working with film professionals, participants will learn how to script, film and edit a 360 ̊film based on original poetry. By the end of the workshop, the VR experiences produced will be exhibited in a public event, inviting audiences from all over London.

Set up in 2004, The Independent Film Trust is a UK-registered charity that exists to advance the cause of independent filmmaking by uncovering stories, empowering new voices and developing new audiences. They advocate for more diversity and representation in the film industry, amplifying stories that explore new ideas challenging audiences and inspire empathy.

The next two sessions will take place this coming weekend, on 21st and 22nd September!
